11/15/10

Back in the tipi after a long, hectic day of work. My first English lesson, Casey's first day with all 10 Chinese students, bosses, and intructors running around the office. Feeling a bit lightheaded... maybe due to the stress or poor ventilation in the tipi. Pretty amazing to return home here, back to our hearts center, back to nature... back down to Earth. I imagine that if we were returning home to an old dusty apartment, or a new stuffy one... with big empty corners and square closed off spaces... we would still have the thoughts of work sprinting through our heads... churning away at nothing but anxiety like an old record player. Thoughts of money, personal drama, success and failure would perhaps be more prevalent in the world tonight.

Instead out here I am listening to the sound of Casey chopping wood, the slow dinging of the chimes, Smokey barking like crazy at a mysterious car's lights showing through the woods across the creek...!? Freaky. Is it the sheriff again?? Hmm… silence. Probably just our curious and concerned neighbors.

It has grown completely dark now. Casey brought in the firewood and its time for me to heat up some veggie soup. A bit of distant traffic noise remind us that we’re not totally alone.
